On Wednesday 18th June, Ecogenesys held their first Summer Conference alongside the company AGM at the prestigious British Museum in London. The event saw over ninety Ecogenesys member representatives and key partners’ attend, with speakers from Defra, PackUK, PRONEXA, the WEEE Forum and Small World Consulting.

Ecogenesys is the largest WEEE producer compliance scheme in the UK, and alongside European partners Christian Ludwig, CEO of PRONEXA and Pascal Leroy, Director General at the WEEE Forum; showcased their combined international reach in WEEE, battery and packaging compliance, alongside new wider sustainability services.

Led by Ecogenesys Executive Chairman, Abs Bokhari and Chief Executive, Graeme Milne; the team were joined at the Conference by Graeme Vickery and Natalie Way, Senior Policy Advisors at Defra. Graeme and Natalie gave a presentation entitled ‘Defra: Towards a Circular Economy for Electricals’ which covered regulatory updates in 2025 and an overview of the Circular Economy Taskforce. Another notable presenter was Margaret Bates of PackUK, discussing ‘pEPR what, when and why?’, giving members a comprehensive summary of the latest packaging regulations to inform business planning. The day ended with Matthew Bond, Senior Carbon Consultant at Small World Consulting. Matthew summarised the pioneering Ecogenesys WEEE carbon model, which has recently received ISO 14044 verification and will soon be shared with Ecogenesys members in a bespoke Carbon Impact Report, alongside a wider suite of Carbon services, including Carbon Literacy Training.
